Core Status — Support
MAXXSOFTWARE INC. · Contact: support@maxxsoftware.com
Core Status shows your Mac's CPU (and GPU) core activity as a
live, resizable dot/segment display. It auto-detects your chip and the real number of cores, and
refreshes every few seconds.
How to use it
- Resize freely — drag any edge. Shrink it to a slim strip or blow it up big; the display scales to fit.
- Click the window to switch views: CPU → GPU → CPU + GPU. Clicking again in "CPU + GPU" swaps which is on top.
- Right-click for the same options, plus a Lines/Dots style toggle.
- View menu: CPU ⌘1 · GPU ⌘2 · CPU + GPU ⌘3 · Swap ⌘4 · Show as Lines ⌘L.
- Hover the very top edge to reveal the window's close/zoom controls; they hide again for a clean look.
Good to know
- Each CPU column shows that individual core's utilization.
- macOS reports overall GPU utilization (not per-GPU-core), so in GPU view the columns represent your GPU core count and all reflect total GPU load.
- Everything runs locally — no internet, account, or setup. See our Privacy Policy.
